Established in 1986 by a group of friends united by a passion for storytelling, Samsa Film has grown into one of Europe’s leading independent production companies.
Over the past forty years, we have produced nearly two hundred feature films, documentaries, and short films. Many of these works have been recognized at major international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, and Venice.
Our early productions, such as Schacko Klak (1989), contributed to laying the foundations of the Luxembourgish film industry. We have consistently supported emerging talent and fostered collaborations across Europe, becoming a trusted partner in European co-productions and working alongside renowned directors.
Domestically, Samsa Film has played a central role in shaping Luxembourgish cinema, producing many of the country’s most successful films. Our long-standing collaborations with some of Luxembourg’s most talented and established directors reflect our ongoing commitment to local storytelling.
Adapting to new storytelling formats, we have also produced TV series for platforms such as Netflix and RTL Luxembourg.

From the original five founders, two – Jani Thiltges and Claude Waringo – have continued to lead and expand the company’s reach both nationally and internationally. In 2015, Bernard Michaux joined the leadership team, strengthening our creative vision and helping to shape the next chapter.
Today, Samsa Film comprises a team of ten, blending experience with fresh perspectives.
